Wednesday, February 27

Tour #1  Corvette Plant
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. 
Cost: $81 (Includes lunch)

Who hasn’t had a secret passion for the American automobile icon – The Corvette? The sleek wonders of the open road are created in just one spot in the entire world, Bowling Green, Kentucky. Guests will visit the plant and the National Corvette Museum that showcases more than 50 Chevrolet Corvettes, including one-of-a-kind and prototype models. The gift shop carries a large selection of “Vette” memorabilia. At any time you may see a new “Vette” owner picking up his car at the “nursery”, posing for photos with the baby and driving her away! Next, it’s off to lunch at Mariah’s. Located in a historic 1818 home, guests will dine on fine luncheon fare from the region.

 

Tour #2  Many Faces of Nashville
1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Cost: $59 (Does not include lunch)

Come see the many faces that make up our great city! First, there is a driving tour through historic downtown. See Riverfront Park, Fort Nashboro, The District, Second Avenue, Printer’s Alley, Bicentennial Mall, Music Row, Tennessee State Museum, The State Capitol and more! Next is a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame. The world’s largest research center dedicated to a single form of American music, the Hall of Fame provides an in-depth look at the people, places, instruments, and emotions that have contributed to country music. Visitors to the Museum experience a world-class music center that contains more than one million artifacts, interactives, recordings and films.


Thursday, February 28

Tour #3  Purity Dairy 
10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Cost: $28 (Does not include lunch)

Whether you want to entertain children or just entertain your inner child, Purity Dairies is the perfect getaway in Nashville. Upon arrival, guests will be treated to a fifteen-minute video on the production process of milk and ice cream, after which they will have the opportunity to taste for themselves. Once cleaned up from the delectable ice cream sandwich, a walking tour of the facility is provided by a representative of Purity Dairy in which guests will have the opportunity to view first hand the ice cream production and the milk production facility at Nashville’s favorite dairy.


Friday, February 29

Tour #4  Mansions of the South
1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Travel back in time to an era literally “Gone with the Wind.” Enjoy southern hospitality while touring two of the South’s most notable antebellum mansions preserved in Nashville, including one of the South’s most rewarding showplaces, Belle Meade Mansion. This “Queen of the Tennessee Plantations” represents 100 years of Tennessee history and architecture. Belmont Mansion, an ornate Italianate villa built in 1850, was the summer home of Joseph and Adelicia Acklen. An extraordinary woman, Adelicia was reputed to be the wealthiest woman in the United States in the mid-nineteenth century.


Saturday, March 1

Tour #5  A Step Back in Time: Franklin – Civil War
1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.   
Cost: $57 (Does not include lunch)

Seventeen miles and 100 years down the road from Nashville is Franklin, a friendly town that captures the warmth and charm of old-fashioned southern hospitality and Civil War history. The Carter House is on the National Historic Landmark and was the site of the Battle of Franklin during the Civil War. The 1830 home served as a command post, where 12 Confederate generals lost their lives. The main house to this day bears bullet holes from the fray. The Carnton Mansion, completed by the McGavock family in 1826, was one of the largest estates in Williamson County. Once known for political gatherings and thoroughbred horses, the plantation served as a hospital during the Battle of Franklin. Today, the home, as well as the Confederate Cemetery, is a reminder of the Civil War battle.


Sunday, March 2

Tour #6  Tennessee Legend: Jack Daniels    
9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.   
Cost: $62 (Includes lunch)

Nestled between a rolling hill and the Mulberry Creek, the Visitor Center tells the story of the people, place and process that give Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey its character. Your distillery guide will tour you throughout the grounds including the barrel house and bottling buildings. Step over to the fermenting vats for a quick smell of the raw product that one day will be Tennessee Whiskey. Round out your trip with a stop on the town square for a souvenir or antique shopping. Make your way to the General Store where just about any Jack Daniel’s logo product is there, except for the product itself. Did we mention that Lynchburg is dry?
